Thien Quang Lake
is situated in the Hai Ba Trung District. The name “Thien Quang” which means “Buddha's Light”, comes from an old village that used to be in the southeast corner of the lake.
The lake was originally bigger, however, during the French times, part of the lake was filled in order to build new streets.

Also known as “Halair Lake” and “Halais Lake”, Thien Quang Lake today occupies a relatively quiet area, surrounded by a park with walking trails. Visitors might see some local people fishing with bamboo poles along the lake's edge.
